Good afternoon.

Last night, went to Cafe Chloe in downtown San Diego to dinner and laughter with six of the nine women I was initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. back in December 2000. We are the Millennium Pearls of Epsilon Xi Omega.

I wore a bronze leather jacket from Terry Lewis Classic Luxuries, brown cashmere sweater by  Ralph Lauren Black Label, dark denim trousers by Ellen Tracy, brown satin slingbacks from J. Crew and a navy Renaud Pellegrino evening bag. Look was completed with Majorica baroque pearl necklace and bracelet, and large CZ stud earrings from the California Gift Show. Two shots follow. Scent was Tom Ford Amber Absolute. Hairpiece, Sensationnel HZ-8010, TL236.

Birthday party

Good day, all. 

I went to a soror's birthday party last night.

The outfit: Tadashi Shoji dress, Zara bag and Manolo Blahnik shoes. I also did a bag closeup. 

Boule 2012: the outfits, day 4

The most challenging outfit day. Started out in all-white (top pic). Sweater: Talbots. Skirt: Talbots Woman. T-shirt: J. Crew. Bag: Banana Republic. Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo.

In the middle, I went to a J. Crew cardigan and Carlisle sleeveless shell. The not-shown bag and shoe combo is Manolo Blahnik sandals and Cobe's bag. Majorica jewelry, as usual.

Finally, for an evening crawl, a Tadashi Shoji dress, my sister's borrowed pashmina and the Ann Taylor/J. Crew Collection evening bag/shoe combination.

Boule 2012: the outfits, day 3

On Tuesday, July 24, I had eclectic outfits for Boule. On top was my daytime fit. It was a Talbots Woman serpentine silk dress. Paired it with my Manolo Blahnik camel Carolyne slingbacks and my whiskey Cobe's Birkin-style bag, plus Majorica pearls. 

Later, I had dinner with a special sorority sister. The hot pink dress is ASOS Curve found at a thrift store. The scarf is the same one I wore on Monday night. Shoes by Sergio Rossi and bag by Ann Taylor. Majorica jewelry as usual.

Boule 2012: the outfits, day 2

Boule got into full swing on July 23.

On the daytime outfit, sorry for the horrid pic. My phone was on its last legs. The sweater is from Ann Taylor. Dress by Talbots Woman. Shoes, Manolo Blahnik. Bag: Reina/Suarez. Sunnies: Claude Montana. Gloves: My mother's. Yes, it was cold enough to wear gloves.

For the nighttime, I'm mixing greens. Dress is J. Crew (their wedding/party collection is now extended past size 16). Shawl's borrowed from sister. Shoes: J. Crew Collection. Bag: Ann Taylor. Jewelry: Majorica.

Tomorrow morning, I'm flying to San Francisco for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.'s national convention. There will be plenty of outfit pictures upon my return.

Label heaux-ing w/Marlo Hampton

Atlanta courtesan and "friend" of the Housewives, Marlo Hampton, chilled by the pool in Miami. And of course, the blackarazzi were out and about, so she posed. Showing off an iPad, which I hope to have myself by July, a Chanel beach bag (out of my budget) and suede Louboutins (why would you wear suede near the pool? Riddle me that).

Having said this, she still makes me laugh and I'd much rather see her than SheRay and Kimberleigh. And I can't tell you why.

A casual outfit, last week.

This was a casual outfit I wore to drive back to OC. Jacket is Nordstrom Encore Gold (women's), 1X. Jeans, Talbots Woman, 18W. T-shirt, J. Crew, L. Shoes, Manolo Blahnik, 40.5. Bag, Suarez/Reina.

Beginning to organize FWRC outfits

This is what I'm likely to wear on the plane to Phoenix. I may find a lightweight sweater to wear on the plane, though, either neutral or white. Issac Mizrahi Live Woman (QVC via jobber) pink pique dress, Manolo Blahnik lime bamboo sandals (score at secondhand store). Will be paired with Cobe's whiskey Birkin-style handbag and sterling/white pearl jewelry.

WIW Debutante ball

Not the most flattering pose, I realize. I was still bloated. The blouse is Kay Unger Woman, skirt Ellen Tracy, shoes Giuseppe Zanotti. Not shown, black La Regale evening bag. Earrings were pink triple CZ drops, and necklace was a choker made with costume pearls done in the Majorica method (not the branded ones). Both pieces of jewelry come from the California Gift Show.

Lady in red

Normally, I don't wear red. And it began long before I was invited to be a member of my sorority.

However, this month we wore red as part of an American Heart Association campaign to fight heart disease among women. So I found a red dress from the Avenue. Accessorized it with Majorica pearls (earrings, necklaces, rings), my steel AKA watch, camel Manolo Blahnik Carolyne pumps and whiskey Cobe's Birkin-style bag (not shown).

Founders' Day weekend style

On Jan. 15, my beloved Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. marked her 104th anniversary. Busy weekend with nice outfits.

Shoespiration

Elle Macpherson (right) shows you can wear flat sandals for evening. Yes, I'm thinking about this for our debutante ball on March 10. I've got a cooler celadon green gown and silver flat sandals from J. Crew Collection.

Sisterhood

On the left is my lovely sorority sister. She's wearing a Tadashi Shoji "loden" (looks like pine to me) dress. I found it for her at Loehmann's for something like 90% off retail (and got one for me).
